Building
Our Future

And your ancient ruins shall be rebuilt; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; you shall be called the repairer of the breach, the restorer of streets to dwell in.
— Isaiah 58:12 ESV

Rebuilding the North Lake School

Interview
with Ron Grochowski

A lot of hard work and renovation has already been accomplished, but much more must be done in order to accommodate the vision God has given for this ministry. Currently, church services are being held in the overflow building as work continues on the school, but we dream of the day when we can open our doors to the whole community.

This region has a beautiful history of hard work, community, and neighbors helping each other. In good times and bad, we have stood together with the Sisu spirit holding us up and moving us forward. We would love for any willing volunteers to join us in the task of finishing this building so we can begin serving you, the people we love.

Volunteer your time, talents, prayer, and donations by contacting Ron.

As you may have seen in our personal stories, we have a lot of experience with building up broken things and seeing “all things become new.”

We have been redeemed, restored, and built up into something new.

This is what God has done for us, and this is also His heart for the whole world! We earnestly desire to reveal His beautiful heart to His people, and to others in our region.

Around ten years ago, the Nehemiah verse 2:17 “arise and build” was highlighted to us, which wound up leading Father’s Heart Ministries to our current property, the previous North Lake School. This building was gifted to the ministry in 2009.

The North Lake School district served the mining families working at Morris Mine, the Barnes Hecker Mine, and the Lloyd Mine. The original wooden North Lake Schoolhouse

burned down in the 1930s and was replaced by the metal and masonry building that still stands. For many years students from grades 1 through 8 attended school there before it sadly fell into disrepair.

Ron looked at the broken-down building and did not see what had been lost; instead, he saw its good bones and the beauty of what it could become. This building has been standing for decades and served many in the community as a place of learning. And so it will again!

Now we have a new vision to turn the North Lake School into a Christian community center. It will be a place of learning and worship, and a venue for family gatherings and events. God’s heart is big, and Father’s Heart Ministries is expanding!

Enlarge the place of your tent, and let the curtains of your habitations be stretched out; do not hold back; lengthen your cords and strengthen your stakes. For you will spread abroad to the right and to the left, and your offspring will possess the nations and will people the desolate cities.
— Isaiah 54:2-3 ESV
